Cardinal Quilt

I wanted to write more about our Brewer vs Cardinal game in the last post but I was in so much pain. I am having a problem with my foot (long story) and can’t stand or walk without it swelling up. I’ve been to the Dr 3x’s in the past 10 days. I have an appointment with a specialist on Monday morning so maybe the 4th time is a charm.
Our friends from St Louis came to visit and see the game. They are die hard Cardinal fans, to say the least. I wish I would have taken a picture of their car, it’s all decked out. Thank goodness the Brewers won (like 15-7 ). So we were able to rib them on the hour and half drive home. I mean, isn’t that what friends are for?

I can’t believe I let her hold my Brewer baby!
Speaking of my Brewer baby. Just one more photo. Then on to the Cardinal quilt.
The pattern is Warm Wishes (Quiltmaker magazine). It’s a great pattern to use novelty fabrics in. I pieced this for my hubby, Mike, for Christmas 2005. He was born and raised in St Louis. The embroidered blocks were purchased on E-Bay. The Cardinal fabric is no where to be found now. The team did not renew the licencing agreement so they stopped making it. Maybe because the Cardinals were so hot last year? Who knows.
I probably won’t be posting much over the weekend. Unless, these meds kick in and cure me. I can’t even set at my domestic machine for long…what a bummer! Maybe I will finally get the chance to catch up on my reading. You know, all those quilting magazines stacked up just waiting.
